Demolition & Tile Removal

Removing old tile is dirtier and slower than installing new tile, and it is where a remodel either starts clean or starts badly.

Old thinset does not come up on its own. If it is left behind, the new floor sits on an uneven surface and you have paid for a problem that will show up later as cracked grout.

• Floor tile removal down to the substrate
• Wall tile and shower demolition
• Thinset and mortar bed removal
• Old vinyl, carpet and laminate removal
• Debris haul-off — we bring our own dumpster, so cleanup is not left to you

After demolition, the substrate gets inspected before anything new goes down. Sometimes what is underneath is fine. Sometimes there is water damage, a soft subfloor or a slab that needs leveling — and it is better to find that out with the floor open than after the new tile is set.
